Dear Friends,

I am always in awe of what God can do through faithful people who have very little in the way of resources, power, or influence! Every year, when we reach the end of the year and look back, we are blown away by what God accomplished through the willing vessel of this ministry. We are so small, and our partners are little indigenous ministries working with few resources and a plethora of challenges. But God does mighty things, using the weak to shame the strong (I Cor. 1:27-29). Our team works hard, but the need is far greater than what we can impact. Join us in praise for what GOD has done!

In 2022 our theme for the year was “Growing Deeper.” We did that, by strengthening our partnerships, going deeper in discipleship training with the people we serve alongside, and ensuring the spiritual formation of the ministry leaders on our team so that they are serving from a place of overflow and not lack. We look forward to how God will use that deeper growth to bring more people with disabilities into the Kingdom in 2023.

Until all have access,

“People with disabilities have skills and gifts, and they are to be co-workers with me just like any other person who is a believer.”

Hamilton, virtual Theology of Disability workshop participant, Malawi

“In trying to hide my disability, I wore my skirt so long I would trip on it. Now, I am no longer ashamed of my disability because I know God loves me and I have value.”

Ramatha Kamara, Transformation Training participant, Sierra Leone

“My daughter, Ruth, fell extremely ill with a bowel obstruction. We were told it was a surgical emergency, but I knew that with Ruth’s autism, surgery and recovery would be extremely difficult. So, we went before the Lord, seeking His intervention in her life. We all prayed—the SSLC staff, my church and Bible study group, family and friends! After three days, God heard our prayers and granted us a miracle! Ruth’s bowel movement was restored without surgical intervention, and with great rejoicing, we were able to go home!”

Margaret K., SSLC Director

“God has brought reconciliation to my family and the family involved in the killing of my father. The bonds of bitterness were broken and forgiveness was granted. This would not have been possible before learning about God’s great love and forgiveness.”

Scholastique, Transformation Training participant, Burundi

“I am a traditional birth attendant (TBA). I am so grateful to learn about the female reproductive system and the life cycle of a woman. This new knowledge answered so many questions I had about women’s bodies. Using my Transformation Training (TT) participant manual, I have now taught all of the other TBAs in my area this important information.
