As we near the end of March, the hottest month of the year, we are beginning to get weary of the heat. Every afternoon the temperatures rise into the low 100’s. I really don’t know how the construction workers handle being out in the sun all day long. Truly God has gifted them with endurance! As for us, we will certainly be glad to welcome the rains when they begin in April. Construction-wise, we are nearly ready for the rains as well. Roofs have been completed on all the buildings except the Guest House, which should get its roof within the next week.
The plumbers and electricians have been hard at work at the Guest House site. I was excited to watch the first window to be installed at the Staff House on Monday. When I returned on Tuesday, nearly all the windows had been installed and plaster was being applied to a bedroom wall. Praise God for the good progress! Next are the door frames which are waiting here at the current WOH guest house where they are being made. They will be delivered to the site yet this week. We don’t lack for construction noise here at the WOH rented guest house. Paul Dumbuya, our “resident carpenter,” is constructing 46 doors and frames from rough cut lumber, so there is always the din of generator, thickness planer, circular saw, and sander noise. Please continue to pray for endurance for us as we joyfully celebrate the completion of each new door. As soon as all the doors are completed, Paul will begin the screens and kitchen cabinets, so until the work is done we covet your prayers for noise overload.
The plumbers and electricians have also been busy getting the Staff House and Guest House ready for plastering. These are exciting days as daily more progress is seen. We thank the Lord every day for His provision and for the strength and energy he gives our workers. Thank you for your continued prayers.
